Comedy for a cause is ALWAYS a good thing, isn't it? Well, when veteran comic and PMC shutterbug Jimi Celeste has anything to do with it, it’s ALWAYS good.  Last night, New York City animal lovers united to “Sit, Stay and Standup” at Chelsea's Comix, hosted by none other than Jimi Celeste.

Beginning with a rather generously timed cocktail reception, guests familiarized themselves with the ASPCA's dog and cat related info, calendars, and other fundraising items. By 7:30 pm, everyone made their way to their tables to take in the show.

This evening, a reasonably-priced fundraiser, contained a HOT bill showcasing the talents of comedians Jim Norton, Nick Di Paolo, Amy Schumer, Pete Correale, Lynne Koplitz, Marc Maron, Seth Herzog, Ben Bailey and Robert Kelly. Music came courtesy of the Enablers (featuring Adam Roth, Musical Director of “Rescue Me”)

We rocked the front table with Jamie McCarthy and Dimitrios Kambouris of Wireimage, along with socialite Emma Snowdon-Jones, Courtney Dawson, and Victoria Schweizer of “Chelsea Lately”. Swirling around us was PMc’s Joe Schildhorn (camera in hand), snapping each comedian from every possible angle. Also in attendance were Kimberly Hannwacker, Ceslie Armstrong, Chao Ngo, as well as PMC Photographers Billy Farrell and Chance Yeh.

Jimi Celeste is the consummate MC. We will totally forgive the 3 legged dog joke, Jimi...really we will. Through Marc Maron's Blackberry rant, Amy Schumer's homeless Miami boyfriend, and Ben Bailey's Cash Cab scenarios, the night was KILLER.

Sit, Stay and Stand Up! was founded to help people with the adoption process and bring awareness to the thousands of dogs and cats in shelters waiting for the opportunity to be a pet.  This year's work with the ASPCA has helped people realize that adopting a pet is the only way to go.
